By getting your website on the search engines, you will open the doors to traffic, customers and sales. This is a fact. But if you are new to the internet, you might not know how to do this. Even if you are not new, you probably do not know these tricks I'm going to show you. You might think that you should submit your site to Google or Yahoo, or even pay for submissions to these search engines. Then wait around until your site shows up... Don't do that! In fact, most of those services are completely uneccessary. They just want to take your money. By submitting your site in the search engines it could take months to get you indexed and that has no relevance on where your site end up in the search results. It just means the engines recognize your website, there bots are crawling it and you are in the results...somewhere.
Here's what I did for my own company site...
Now, if you already have a website (which you probably do if you are reading this) great. If not, it is always good to start backwards before you make your site. You want to narrow down who your target audience is and do research on what keywords they are using in the search engines to find your product or service and simliar services. I use many tools for this, some paid and some free. A great one is the Google keywords EXTERNAL keyword tool. Ill post links to these at the bottom, because Im going to give you everything you need to succeed here. The external tool give you better results in my opinion than the internal tool, where you are setting up a adwords campaign. Just go to this tool, type in some terms you want to rank for and it will tell you how many people are searching for those terms and related terms. So if you have a site for custom t-shirts, you'll want to type in "custom t-shirts" and "buy custom t-shirts". You get the idea. Find out which terms get the most searches and it's a good idea to check the competition, which is in there too.
Another way to check the competition is to take the keyword from the tool and pop it into Google. See how many pages there are in the upper right hand corner. Then, put quotes around the keywords (like "buy custom t-shirts") and search again. This tells you the number of exact matches for this keyword term. There are usually way more without quotes than with. You want a term that has good search traffic with as little competition as possible. Less than 10,000 results in quotes is pretty easy to get to the first page.
Once you have the MAIN term you want to rank for, you want to incorporate that into your site. If you already have a domain name, you can make a subpage like www.bobstshirts.com/buycustomtshirts. If you don't have a domain name, try to get your keyword as your domain name. It makes more sense to do this and rank well for it then to use the name of your business that no one knows about and has no keyword relevance...get it? Basically, the more times you use your main keyword the better, just don't over do it. Also, I will tell you how to drive targeted traffic to your website using advanced techniques, which have no relevance to your domain name at all. So if you already have a domain name that isn't keyword optimized, don't sweat it!
Wow, this post is getting long! Go grab a coffee or someting! It's alot of info, but let me tell you, this took me FOREVER to learn. I went through software programs and e-books like crazy until I finally "got it". So just be patient and soak this up like a sponge. In fact, you should bookmark this page so you don't lose it. You can't learn years of material in 3 paragraphs!
So, you have your keywords and you have your website. Make sure you put those keywords in your website content. Have your title include those keywords and sprinkle them a couple time in your paragraphs. Search engines crawl your site and check out your content, so it's important to hace those keywords in there. That way, they know when someone types in "buy custom t shirts", they know your site is a good match because you have those same keywords in your website.
Also, buying a flashy website isn't always best. They are usually harder to rank. Wordpress installed on domain is my favorite, even though the site you are on is just a free blog. I have many, many dot coms with Wordpress installed on them. If you ever want to do this, you can have someone do it for you for $10 if you know where to look. Super cheap and worth every penny. Once you have to time to sit down and learn how to do it, it's not that hard at all.
OKAY! You have everything done. The domain name, the keywords in the title (meta tags too) and sprinkled throughout your page. Now it's time to get indexed in the search engines! (See, there was one of my keywords!)
The way I do this, sometimes in 2 minutes time, is with Brute Force SEO.
This is a software program that automates a process that would take you over a weeks time to do by hand. It saves so much time, that you can make websites and promote them in the same day. Not only that, but they will get indexed, get listed in the search engines and rank VERY well.
You should click on the link and sign up with paypal. This software is $1 for a week to try it out. When I signed up for my trial, I planned on just promoting my Contractor business and then cancelling the subscription. I absolutely fell in love with this program and don't think I will ever stop using it. It has made me alot of extra money from all the websites I have promoted with it, plus my Contracting business is impossible to not be found by a person searching for it on the internet.
Why? Because I own the first page of Google. What does that mean? Well, my main moneymaker for this business is Crown Molding. So, I targeted that phrase, even though Im ranked for many different phrases. I used Brute Force SEO, did a full run of the software over my website and keyword "temecula crown molding" and literally before the software was done I had page one results. Within 24 HOURS I had 6 of the 10 results on page one and after 5 days (and strengthening my SEO backbone through Brute Force) I dominated the entire page. Yes, that's right! When someone searches for "temecula crown molding" all 10 of the organic listings are my sites! To make it even better, I made some of the titles "Temecula Crown Molding - Choose The Best!", so people almost have to click on them...
This doesn't just work for local search terms either. I have since made sites for all kinds of different niches and all of them on the first page. If it's not the "main website" on the first page it's an article that links back to it and "pre-sells" before they even visit my site!
One example is for my buddy who is in the mortgage industry. HEAVY competition there. He does FHA refi's, loan modifications and things like that. I told him I'd make a site for him for free (don't do this with anyone you don't know well!) and promote it if he gave me $300 per sale. It took me a day and a half to make the site and run it through Brute Force SEO. The very next day he got 15 leads. Now, three weeks later, he is getting 20-30 leads per day. It's tough to close deals in that industry, but usually he closes atleast one per day. That amounts to an extra $1200 to $2000 per WEEK usually for me! He is making way more than that.

How does this software get you indexed in the search engines? Well, it's very powerfull stuff. First, you create all your accounts - article, rss and social bookmarks (like Twitter and Digg). There is a tool that does this for you! All you do is check your email and verify them. Then, you type in the URL, main keyword, rss feed (Ill talk about this in a minute), other keywords to promote and it will create blog accounts for you. You then load atleast one article into the software. You make your main keyword phrase the title of the article and then use that again in the first sentence and again at the closing. You then put your links in the authors area. This is where you get your "link juice"! You don't put your website url in there (well you can if you want), but you make a link code and use your keywords as the link. This is how search engines (especially Google) rank your site in the search results. The more links you have, the more popular your site and the better you'll rank.
Brute Force SEO give you a massive amount of backlinks instantly. The whole program takes an hour to run and all you have to do is enter some captcha's once in awhile. It couldn't be easier.
So after you load the article (if you have no idea how to write one, just search in ezine articles for a topic your sites about and re-write of those articles) and check all the settings, you are ready to go!
You hit the start button and Brute Force SEO will create a bunch of blogs and use the articles as your posts, putting your links on each blog. Then, it submits your articles to all the top articles sites and all those links are in there too. Both of those rank very well on their own. Then, it submits your sites feeds to all the RSS aggregators and social bookmark sites. This is very powerfull stuff. Inside BFS there are tutorials that go into detail on this. RSS can be used to create an SEO Backbone that is almost unstoppable. If I wrote an article and someone else wrote the same article and we submitted them to the same sites, my article would rank much better because of the backbone I have created. It will also get indexed almost immediately. I've had articles show up in the search engines within minutes of submitting them, on the FIRST PAGE.
Once you run your site through Brute Force SEO, all those blogs, articles, backlinks, rss feed and social bookmark sites are created and it is impossible for Google not to index your site. Google crawls these sites ALL DAY LONG for new content. Once you run your site through, just type into google @your-url-here and click search. This will show you the links that are already indexed back to your site. REALLY soon after that your main site will show up and you are in! The best part is that all these sites, articles and rss feeds direct traffic to your main site and you get even more traffic than just having your site in the search engines alone!
I use this every day, but you only have to do each site ONCE per month. Maybe TWICE. If you get too crazy your site might disappear, like running it over your site every day. You can make one article, do a run and go back the next day and add another article and do a run. That's fine. I usually do this if I didnt do a run of 8 articles in there. 8-10 articles gives you 8-10 keywords to dominate and drive traffic to your site. It's amazing.
This about does it for me. What a post! Once you get inside BFS you can watch the videos and learn more, but do not concentrate on the small stuff. If you don't get something, just move on until later. Once you do it a couple times you'll get the hang of it.
